In this piece I wanted to explore the feeling of early winter light- 10/01/05- Groove-for clarinet, violin, and piano at Nagoya's Fushimi Denki Bunka Kaikan Concert Hallat 10:45am.This piece was commissioned by Chie Morimoto as a program opener. In this piece I wanted to explore the clarinet's twin personality- it's ability to be very rhythmic and also very sentimental. 8/26/05- Aubade-for string quartet at Nagoya's Fushimi Denki Bunka Kaikan Concert Hall at 10:45am.This piece was commissioned by Chie Morimoto as a program opener for a morning concert hence the title. It is a short one-movement work. An aubade is traditionally a dialogue between two lovers in the early morning before they both must part. It came to be used in the 17th century for civic occassions that were held in the morning. I was enamored of the idea of two lovers still entwined in dreams whispering to each other in the early morning. 8/22/05- Windchimes-an octet for winds commissioned by the ANALOG arts ensemble will be performed on the ARTSaha! concert series in Omaha, Nebraska at the Co-op Gallery 7pm 3/1/05- Thoughts on landing-finished! for six guitars commissioned by the Naniwa Guitar ensemble an amateur ensemble based in Osaka.It's in two movements and set to be performed sometime next year. The first movement is meant to express the feeling of landing in a strange new land and the second a summer festival. 2/25/05- studioW-I wrote the music for a new dance studio's TV commercial here in Nagoya 10/17/04- Cold Blue Noodle-for solo flute was performed by the Accessible Contemporary Music group at the Chopin Theatre in Chicago, Illinois 10/11/04- en12chant9-for solo violin was performed by Chie Morimoto in Sapporo, Hokkaido at Sapporo Concert Hall Kitara-Hokkaido is Japan's northernmost island famous for it's beer, seafood, and snow festival. 10/6/04- en12chant9-for solo violin was performed by Chie Morimoto at Nagoya's Fushimi Denki Bunka Kaikan in Fushimi check out Radio LavaLamp's -web broadcast of my music first click the link above then click here for the broadcast schedule it will be on several times a week on the program "Radio LavaLamp Presents" Thoughts on landing-for six guitars, a work in progress commissioned by Masaru Suga and the Naniwa Guitar Ensemble
6/12/04- dreaming-for solo piano was performed at NYC's Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall by the Naoko Hashimoto 6/11/04- Caccini's Ave Maria-i arranged and performed Caccini's Ave Maria for guitar duet and tenor,other performers included Oya Shuji, and Takashi Nakamura 3/28/04- Echoes: a fantasy for violin and guitar-will be performed in Kakuozan by Chie Morimoto and Yoshio Nomura at the Matsuzakaya Mansion 3/27/04- Echoes: a fantasy for violin and guitar-will be performed in Hamamatsu by Chie Morimoto and Yoshio Nomura 2/15/04- October Dream -was performed in Osaka by myself and others at the Osaka Guitar Festival where it won first prize in the ensemble competition 2/07/04- October Dream -was be performed at the Fushimi Denki Bunka Kaikan hall in Nagoya, Japan by myself and others 11/02/03- October Dream -for guitar quartet will have a repeat performance yay! 10/03/03- October Dream -for guitar quartet was performed in the Takayama mountains in Nagano, Japan and will again be performed by myself and others on 11/2/03 8/31/03- i will be competing in the 30th Nippon Guitar Competition in Osaka
